Working in a health and social care setting is associated with encouraging the review of an employee's goal and achievement on a regular basis which helps them to manage their personal and professional development process (Healthcareers.nhs.uk, 2023). While these are considered individual plans that are suitable for a particular person, it also helps in a systematic way with the aim of identifying and addressing individuals educational and professional development requirements. This is followed by pointing out for the development and encouragement for lifelong learning by identifying goals for the forthcoming time to achieve the goals (Martin & Mulligan, 2022). I am working as a health manager in a renowned healthcare organisation in the UK. While I consider myself a dedicated and hard working person, I feel I am good at communicating with people in the health care setting while identifying myself as a reliable and trusted person for managing a team of professionals. On the other hand, while the healthcare sector is considered full of opportunities and learning, I always look for those in terms of improving myself and learning new things while working with different people. Therefore, I feel that developing a proper professional and personal plan will help me to identify my learning requirements alongside the goals of developing from my current role in the future. The following assignment is intended to address the core professional issues that I have faced while working in health and social care practice alongside my personal development while identifying values and ethics and professional behaviour and a team player for the successful outcome.
Inter-professional practice is considered a significant state in health and social care delivery while meeting multiple requirements of the patient and enabling effective communication between the care providers and care receivers (Vasset et al. 2022). In my opinion, professionalism is considered a way to help employees while working in a group and managing code of conduct while following the regulation in order to treat everyone equally while taking into account their cultural and religious beliefs.
While addressing the core issues, communication is considered a significant issue for the healthcare professionals and it is also considered a significant factor that helps with managing effective collaboration between the professionals and care providers (Kobayashi et al. 2022). I feel this can lead to misunderstanding and misinterpretation which lead to medical error of patient care and improper exchange of information by affecting the overall health outcome for the patient. On the other hand, another core issue in the same field refers to teamwork which involves associations of healthcare professionals and patients while making shared decisions and ensuring the high-quality care maintenance for the patient (Nock & Cichon, 2022). Besides, there are several issues in the form of mutual respects on opinions and belief that can affect the inter-professional health and social care practices alongside breaching ethical regulation in medicine which down siding the autonomy and confidentiality of patient information. Apart from that, the provision of evidence-based practice alongside managing professional development and leadership are considered difficult situations in the health and social care sector that can create significant challenges in maintaining inter-professional activities (McHenry et al. 2022). In my opinion, these principles need to be integrated into all aspects with the aim of managing healthcare delivery and improving the overall patient outcome while enhancing patient and provider experience and the promotion of sustainability of the overall health care services.
While I work as a healthcare manager in the health and social care sector, supporting value based professional and personal development is important for the managers and healthcare organisations. The code of conduct of a healthcare manager refers to integrity, respect along with excellence, collaboration and innovation (Dowdell & Speck, 2022). While integrity is considered the fundamental foundation and value of any healthcare organisation, it also helps to set the tone of other values that are performed and executed in the health and social care sector with the aim of improving the patient outcome. In my opinion, the values of healthcare managers in the same sector is identified by certification access from professional organisations in the form of fundamental credentials for upward mobility. This also includes the implementation of continuous learning by the managers while positioning themselves for facing future challenges (Rodríguez-Pérez et al. 2022). It helps them with suggesting recognitions for professional values which are associated with these certifications and attributes towards further demonstration of individual engagement in health and social care activities during the absence of employer and reimbursement for the overall improvement. The ethical responsibilities of managers refer to honouring patient's rights while making decisions alongside respecting care and seeking patient's consent for further treatment (Westwood, 2022). It also addresses moral beliefs alongside the sense of right and wrong and meeting the responsibilities while maintaining quality care for the patients. Besides, the professional behaviours referred to the action performed by managers and their teams while promoting health and preventing illness alongside providing treatment and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, managing health conditions and the overall system while building therapeutic alliances.
As health care activities are maintained by a team of healthcare professionals such as doctors, physicians, nurses and other health workers; this is considered a teamwork to maintain the overall operations (Lanford et al. 2022). In my opinion, healthcare managers are often required to be collaborative workers as they also work with various stakeholders in the form of doctors, nurses or administrative staff along with patients and families. Collaboration is considered a significant factor while managing the overall healthcare operation by allowing for coordination and effective and quality care delivery for the patient (Yeo et al. 2022). I feel my role as manager requires me to collaborate on a range of activities in the form of developing healthcare policies and procedures along with managing the budget of the organisations and the implementation of resources while identifying new programs and initiatives and addressing patient queries and complaints.
On the other hand, effective collaboration is considered a significant state that requires the implementation of strong communication skills which helps with the ability of building relationships in the health and social care environment alongside managing mutual trust and respect in group works (Yeo et al. 2022). I consider this a significant factor for addressing the willingness to share knowledge and expertise in the same environment while continuing self-study on collaborative subjects. This factor also helps managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care for the patients alongside meeting their requirements and staff management. I have also worked closely with the stakeholders and it helped me with coordinating patient care and managing the overall resources of the previous organisation I worked while ensuring the facility of the activities in an efficient manner. This also helps me to collaborate with external stakeholders here in the form of insurance providers alongside government agencies and community organisations with the aim of ensuring the facility of meeting the primary requirements of patient care and the wider community of people. On the other hand, it also helps managers to foster collaborative activities between different hospital departments and stakeholders while improving the overall communication and streamlining processes to improve the health outcome for the patients (Berkhout et al. 2022).
In the case of health and social care, the implementation of effective communication impacts beyond knowledge and experts while incorporating different aspects of interaction and experiences. In my opinion, care professionals are accountable to emphasise their communication skills to interact with patients along with managing confrontation or disagreement while facing challenging situations in the same setting. The use of communication skills in health and social care associates with the providence of emotional support to the patient alongside the protection of patient privacy while communicating with other employees in terms of maintaining the quality care process (Delak & Širok, 2022). The primary example of effective communication in health and social care settings refers to the inclusion of hospital operation alongside GP surgery and communication between different departments and supporting centres and nursing homes to maintain the overall quality care of the patient. In my opinion, communication also helps with the role of the patients to vocalise their requirements while making shared decisions regarding the treatment plan or the overall care aspects.
While I have worked as healthcare manager in the previous hospital, I have experienced the implementation of effective communication methods in the health and social care sector which includes the use of verbal and non-verbal, written and visual communication styles. While verbal communication involves management of interaction by using speech (Al?Ajarmeh et al. 2022), I have used it to interact with the patient and their families in regards to their concern on treatment plan or medications or their complaint on hospital care services. Besides, non-verbal communication is used in the hospital sector that signifies the implementation of body language and facial expression and gestures (Delak & Širok, 2022). From my overall working experience, I have managed to experience that patients reflect their different emotions by using their body languages in a non-verbal form and it associates the professionals to understand their uncomfortable situation or concern in regards to the overall care aspects. As the healthcare managers, I feel the use of a written communication style helps the employees to maintain record keeping of patients along with managing doctor-patient communication by addressing written prescriptions or doctor referrals. This is considered significant as it can be used in different and convenient forms such as emails on letters or reports. On the other hand, I feel visual communication is also used in the form of chat graphs and diagrams that can be used by a leader for teaching employees who are taking class in regards to health and social care. From my previous working experience, I have used verbal and nonverbal communications and both of these are convenient in the case of expressing views in regards to health and social care. While the former is mostly used by professionals while communicating with patients, I prefer using this to identify the professionals' point of view in regards to managing patient care and their perceptions on the healthcare policies and regulations of the organisation.
On the other hand, the use of communication is effective in the following setting as it helps with building trust, strengthening professional relationships along with boosting team work and improving the overall productivity (Labrague et al. 2022). I feel this will help me to maintain the team work in the familiar settings in the future along with the improvement of the overall team performance for providing better care aspects for patients.
In my opinion, communication and teamwork are considerably important that have to be improved continuously while managing the overall operation in health and social care. I feel this will also help me with the development of professional relationships in the working environment while improving the overall care aspects and making decisions. Besides, leadership is also important in terms of managing a team on time and I feel I need to be mastered in this in terms of managing an interdisciplinary medical team for the overall outcome.

In terms of concluding the following context, it can be stated that professional and personal development in health and social care associates with the management of own learning and growth throughout the career. It also helps with a continuous learning process that is considered significant to open up new opportunities by keeping the skills and knowledge up to date along with ensuring the maintenance of safe and legal practices.
