This study has been reflected based on the GIBBS model that helps in describing the current role and parameters of healthcare practices. This has also reflected "NMC standards of proficiency" for the nursing associates. It has identified TNA that h has focused on a different field. The GIBBS model has focused on different healthcare practices and specified challenges that need to be mitigated.
Based on my description, the current role is nursing associate in the Cardiology Centre. Being a nurse in cardiology, it is important to treat persistent as well as critical issues of patients. As a nurse, I focus on providing help to healthcare administrators and promoting health awareness based on heart measures to patients and families. Based on my evaluation, clinical responsibilities have been provided to provide training to nursing associates that help in acquiring skills, experience, knowledge, and abilities during the training process (Bibi et al. 2022). This enables nurses to achieve NMC standards in a range of practice areas.
Based on my description, the role of kids' nursing can help deliver better care facilities in the Mental Health Field. I focus on implementing my professional skills and abilities that will meet the special healthcare needs of children. On the other hand, the main responsibility is to provide medical care to children as well as development training that can help in handling basic requirements and help to live a healthy life. According to my feelings, the primary role and responsibilities of a kid's nurse are to provide better facilities for psychiatric disorders, behavioural problems, and mental health issues. The major role being a kid's nurse is to take care of handicapped children and act as a catalyst (Poorchangizi et al. 2019). Based on my evaluation this helps me to recognise goals and act in a manner that is effective for the child, community, and family.
Based on my description, the role of kid's nursing are different in that help in providing care to children who deal with mental health issues, psychiatric disorders, and behavioural problems. According to my feelings, a challenge I faced when I was handover to take care of Catheter CBD. Based on my evaluation, I find it difficult to get adjusted to the new parameter that was provided to me and was pressurised to do so. As a Kid's nurse, I was trained to deal with issues that are faced by children in Mental Health Field. Based on my analysis, I was trained in my field and also trained to support care quality with continuous improvement (Jia et al. 2021). Catheter CBD was out of my background and was difficult to deal with the situation that was faced by patients.
Based on my conclusion, the role of nursing is binding human society that is based on affection as well as care. In healthcare services, nurses play an important role to provide better facilities to patients and carry out their leadership roles in healthcare and hospital. The main aspect of nurses is to underline important tasks and help nurses to mitigate present challenges in the healthcare sector. Lack of recognition based on Catheter CBD has led to face various challenges and make it difficult to carry out responsibilities appropriately (Lorente et al. 2021). Based on my Action Plan, it is important to consider accountability as well as delegation competency that can help me to deal with challenges occurring within an organisation.
On Each Order!
This situation has become challenging for me and I was unable to over the situation. Taking care of patients with Catheter CBD was challenging as I have no idea about the patient's situation and their symptoms. I was unable to bear indirect opprobrium and become a dreadful situation that occurred within an organisation. Thus, patients were not satisfied with my services and I was blamed for things which were not my fault (Brathwaite, 2020). Based on my feelings, inadequacy has also become a major concern that leads to ineffective medical care and the non-availability of doctors.
Regarding the equipment that is used in treating Catheter CBD, I was not aware of the equipment and use for the effective treatment of patients. The responsibilities are considered to be unnecessary and they affected the environment. Based on my analysis, the healthcare setting and undertake roles of nurses have left with minimal time to carry out their responsibilities. I have to spend more time understanding the situation of the patient and the equipment that is required for better treatment (Benbow et al. 2021). Thus, some faults in my selected roles can lead to major consequences such as salary deduction and cancellation of leaves.
For dealing with such situations in the future, I will enhance my skills in different fields and get out of my comfort zone. It is important to understand the essential component that helps in developing a better healthcare environment. The knowledge, skills, and attributes in different filed will help me to demonstrate carrying people across all care settings. Based on my description, reflecting on things that the public appreciates or expects from nurses to provide better services and deliver effective nursing Care (Francis and O'Brien, 2019). Providing benchmarks for nurses through the "European Economic Area" and overseas can help in dealing with different situations.
A benchmark is considered to be an effective plan that returns to practice and deals with the situation that can cause issues in the healthcare sector. Furthermore, I will focus on being an accountable professional and preventing ill health. This is considered to be important in assessing the needs and care of ill patients with different diseases. Evaluation and managing nursing care will concentrate on providing better healthcare services and improving their safety (Leigh et al. 2019). Therefore, I will determine all healthcare standards with realising professionalism and understanding standards of nursing education and training.
Ethical osseous and dilemmas can be defined as a situation that includes patients, families of patients and healthcare workers with various options on providing appropriate care. As cited by Wising et al. (2022), healthcare professionals can get torn between autonomy and the ethics of beneficence. During violation of the resolution, judges can need to make action in such a situation. Ethical health code case professionals said that patients have the right to gain truth and valuable information graining their medical condition. In addition, patients can be able to choose their treatment options. As per the opinion of Grealy (2022), information needs to be understandable and sufficient for patients to take greater decisions on choosing treatment options. Options of patients need to be properly suitable to their medical conditions that need accurate and understandable information. This type of situation can lead to developing ethical dilemmas. During the situation, patients can choose a different option of treatment that is not best suitable for their medical conditions. On the other hand, professionals are unable to provide different treatments as patients chose other options for treatments. Therefore, dilemmas can be developed in healthcare organisations.
Health professionals need to maintain particular appropriate boundaries. I learned that patients can be vulnerable and that vulnerability needs to be respected and acknowledged at every time. As per the opinion of Hakbilen et al. (2023), the successful outcomes of treatment can be helpful to increase gratitude that can mislead to physical attraction. Sexual exploitation and professional ethics laws prohibition include inappropriate informants with patients like accepting gifts and dating that can exceed nominal values. Genuine trust, empathy and concern need to frame interactions. As mentioned by Ramathuba and Ndou (2020), intervention can be required to develop mutual respect that cannot be shown and boundaries need to be maintained. Legal and ethical issues in health care organisations that are assisted with data privacy and access to care. Protecting the privacy of pained is the top priority of healthcare organisations with the following Act of health insurance accountability and probability.
There was a patient who was back from surgery for a heart transplant. I am here to check BP ("blood pressure") and observe the patient. I am there to last this information to register doctor nurse and other patients. This situation is faced by me that lead to an ethical dilemma I am unable to decide which can be right for a patient who has a heart transplant recently. As cited by Sperling (2021), ethical issues in hospitals and healthcare organisations have increased in the last two decades and one of the major reasons behind it is advanced technology. As per the view of Gebreheat and Teame (2021), less information and consent can lead to ethical dilemmas in the situation of healthcare. The dilemma is developed for me as there is unavailability of a support machine in the ward. Support machines can help make heart transplant patients more stable. Therefore, I need the patient to go for a PICC line. The patient did not provide proper consent for the PICC line. Therefore, this situation turns into an ethical dilemma and I have to deal with it for better outcomes for clients.
In my opinion, the reason behind dilemmas is nurses need to provide primary care to patients and members of the family for empathy, counselling and support. I learned that heart transplants can be one of the crucial areas in health after that can ever a large number of ethical issues. As per the view of Hognestad Haaland et al. (2021), some aspects of the process of heat transplantation can need special; considers including the lack of viable systems for supporting cultural issues and patients. I feel that projects including ethical dilemma types and the growth of numbers can continue to evolve, population and can be more diverse. Healthcare systems for delivery can employ more group diversities to provide health care.
Being a nurse can provide achievement with great outcomes for clients with help of dierct5ing and providing nursing care that can be helpful to deliver sitting to protect health care professionals and protect clients. I learned that management of care can be an important factor in maintaining ethical dilemmas in healthcare organisations. I learned that several factors can play major roles in providing and managing care to patients in healthcare organisations. As per the opinion of Oddvang et al. (2021), the major factors in managing the care of patients are advance directives. Advocacy, advances directives, established priorities, case management, and ethical practices. Clients' rights, informational technology, confidentiality, quality improvement, legal rights, informed consent, supervision and ethical practices.
PICC can be used for accessing large and central veins that are positioned near the heart. It is used by me for providing liquid nutrition and medication. It can be helpful to reduce pain and reduce irritation risks. I learned that protecting healing; care personnel and clients from environmental and health hazards are a major part of safety control. As cited by Tulyakul and Meepring (2020), the safety control of patients is a major priority of healthcare organisations that includes environmental and health hazards. Many factors exist that need to be maintained for safety control.
Major factors of safety controls are error, injury, emergency plan, safe equipment use, security plan, home safety, variance, occurrence and safety devices. I used monitor technologies and ensure that patients understand the process of treatment. Providing PICC to patients needs constant that I discussed with family members of the patient that is associated with the NMC code, NICE guidelines and legislation. Verification of medical procedures is done with the consent of doctors and nurses. In this situation, there is a very small way to make changes to deal with the patient who had recently a heart transplant. Therefore, I can ask doctors to manage support machines and take constant from a family of patients to provide greater care. This can be helpful to deal with those types of situations that include ethical and legal dilemmas.
This reflection report has been developed in such as way that it can shed light on the imaginary situation of heart transplantation with the support of relevant literary works. This reflection is based on the Nursing theories and management of patients. This report has been identifying a medical situation and a making decision after analysing the entire situation. This report also going to shed light on the effectiveness of the taken decisions for a service user, with the outcomes. Both the positive and negative aspects of the made decision will be evaluated in this situation.
This situation is mainly based on the situation of heart transplant of a patient who is suffering from severe cardiac issues. I need to make the best possible decision that can help in achieving a positive outcome for the patient during the heart transplantation. After admitting the patient it has been identified that the patient is going through a severe fluctuation in blood pressure. As this situation can affect the business in a major way, it can affect the health condition after transp[lantring heart. Currently, I am thinking about taking a break and stepping back from the surgery. In my opinion, a pause and closely observing the medical condition as well as monitoring the BP will be an effective decision. On the other hand, this idea of taking a pause will not backfire until the medical or cardiac condition of that patient will deteriorate.
A heart transplant is basically an operation which uses to replace a heart that is a failure to operate all its operations, with a healthier donor heart. This transplantation of the heart is that treatment mainly gets performed on a condition when the medical state of a patient is not getting improved even after having enough medications and other surgeries (Czok et al. 2021). With the clear Description of this situation, it can be stated that there is a high chance of deteriorating the condition of the patient in both the situation of performing or avoiding the surgery.
In the case of such operations, having an accurate rate of blood pressure reading has a significant role as it helps in having a clearer picture of the further health risks of heart disease and even heart stroke. Although a BP reading of low blood pressure than the normal rate might give a false security regarding the health condition of the patient, the rising rate of BP is indicating toward a sensitive case.
During both my, academic and professional careers I Felt that hypertension is the major cause of high BP during an operation. As heart transportation is itself an integrated part of BP, during cardiac surgery, it uses to play a significant role (Kiselev et al. 2020). Hypertension can take place in both the pre-operative and post-operative periods, which uses to play a significant role in maximising the scope of cardiovascular events during the operation. The basics of cerebrovascular events, such as bleeding, and even the case of mortality might be controlled in the prior stage with the help of monitoring blood pressure. This situation can mainly get controlled during major cardiac surgeries as well as non-cardiac surgeries.
I have been Evaluated that, the higher the rate of blood pressure gets, the greater the risk of deterioration in health conditions will occur. Blood pressure might change during cardiac surgery, as the health condition of the patient has a strong control over the entire health condition of the company. According to the study by Ajibade et a. (2020), during surgery, both high and low readings of BP can bring unexpected circumstances, as they have been dealing with a serious aspect. Although a normal rate of BP is the most valuable position, it might also lead to any deteriorating factors.
I also have Analysed that, in the case of raising the blood pressure of a patient during any sort of surgery can be occurred due to the activation of the "sympathetic nervous system". This condition has been noticed due to injecting a certain amount of anaesthesia within the body of the patient in case of any normal phenomenon, at the same time, it will also increase the heart rate (Kiselev et al. 2020). According to the analysis, it can be stated that general practitioners of nursing, will also refer patients for surgery with mean blood pressures in primary care in the past 12 months less than 160 mmHg systolic and less than 100 mmHg diastolic.
After the analysis of the entire condition, it can be concluded that the higher rate of BP increases the scope of deterioration in the health condition of a patient (McEvoy et al. 2019). Therefore, I have decided to delay the heart transplantation of the patient, until his BP comes under control.
In this situation, my further Action plan will be to keep that particular patient under severe observation. During this period, my full concentration will be on the fluctuation of his blood pressure. I will also take care of the other factors that play a significant role in heart transplantation surgery.
Conclusion
Based on the Nursing theories and management of patients, this reflection report has been developed in such as way that it can shed light on the imaginary situation of heart transplantation with the support of relevant literary works. This aims to deal with a situation that is focused on the situation of heart transplant of a patient who is suffering from severe cardiac issues. In this condition the drawback is the high BP and fluctuation of the blood pressure rate. Therefore, I have made the decision of keeping that particular patient under severe observation, and avoiding the operation until his situation is not getting stable. According to the entire study, avoiding surgery and observing in this stage will be helpful in reducing the scope of failure.
