Research methodology serves as the foundation for any academic study, providing a structured approach to data collection, analysis, and interpretation. The selection of an appropriate research method is crucial in ensuring the validity and reliability of the findings. In this study, which explores the effects of motivation on productivity in a work-from-home setting, a qualitative research approach has been adopted. This method is chosen to develop in-depth theoretical knowledge on the subject.
The research follows an inductive approach, which helps establish the aim and objectives of the study while guiding the researcher through the investigation. A descriptive research paradigm is utilized to thoroughly analyze the relationship between motivation and productivity. Additionally, the study is based on an interpretivist research philosophy, which aligns with the qualitative nature of the research.
Both primary and secondary data sources are used for comprehensive data collection. Thematic analysis is employed for evaluating the gathered data. Ethical considerations such as obtaining informed consent and ensuring confidentiality are strictly followed to maintain research integrity. Despite challenges such as time and budget constraints, careful planning has enabled the successful execution of the study, ensuring that meaningful insights are derived.
The type of research is defined as way of conducting the whole study. For the completion of the study, there are generally two methods that is qualitative and quantitative. In the present case of exploring the effect of motivation and productivity from working from home to use of qualitative study will be undertaken (Sileyew, 2019). The reason for selecting the qualitative study is that it will help in developing the theoretical knowledge relating to the study.
Research approach
The research approaches is defined as the different reason for which any research method is being selected. The approach can be of two types that is inductive and deductive. In the current case of analysing the impact of motivational productivity over working from home the use of inductive approach will be made (Patel and Patel, 2019). This inductive approach is being used by the researcher in order to develop the aim and objective for the study. The development of aim and objective sets a guidance to the researcher for accomplishing the study.
The research paradigm is defined as the different method or patterns for conducting the study. In general there are different types of research paradigm which can be followed by the researcher which includes descriptive prescriptive exploratory of predictive. In the current case of evaluating the effect of motivation and productivity over the working from home of employees to use of descriptive study will be made. This is particularly selected because it will help in analysing the research topic in depth and developing greater knowledge relating to research topic.
Research philosophy
The philosophy of the research is defined as the beliefs on the basis of which the method of research is selected. In general there are two kinds of philosophy that is interpretivism and positivism which can be used for accomplishment of research (Wohlin and Runeson, 2021). In the current case the use of interpretivism will be made because it is most suitable and case of qualitative study.
Data collection
For successful working of the research it is very necessary that effective data is used in order to attend the objective. The data can be gathered from two different sources that is primary and secondary. In the current case of analysing the effects of motivational productivity of work from home the use of combination of primary and secondary data will be used (HR and Aithal, 2022). The primary data will be gathered with help of questionnaire where is the secondary data will include the evaluation of data gathered from books journals articles relating to the research topic.
Sampling
Sample is defined as the selection of sum of the people from the whole population pull stop it is very necessary for the effective selection of the sample because in case the sample will not be appropriate and data collected will not be effective. In order to accomplish the objective of the current study the use of 30 respondents will be made from the company being selected.
Data analysis
For the success of the research it is very necessary that the collected data is evaluated effectively. This is particularly necessary because when the data gathered will not be evaluated effectively then the objectives will not be attained. The in the present case the evaluation of the data will take place by the help of thematic analysis. Within thematic analysis different themes will be created and according to it the data will be analysed.
Research limitation
While conducting the study there are many different limitations which the researcher faces. In the present case the researcher faced the major limitation of time constraint. The time provided for the successful completion of the study was very limited but then also the researcher tried to manage the time and complete the objectives before time (Acampora and et.al, 2022). Along with this another limitation faced was of fewer budgets. The budget provided for completion of the study was very low and because of it the study was impacted. But the research with help of good allocation skill allocated the budget to each and every activity.
Ethical consideration
For the success of the study it is necessary that all the ethical aspects are considered while conducting the study. The first and foremost ethical aspect to be considered by the researcher is taking informed written consent from the respondent (Urcia, 2021). This is necessary before taking in use the personal data of the respondent. Along with this another ethical aspect to be considered is maintaining the confidentially of the respondents. It is necessary to maintain the confidentiality relating to the personal information of the respondent.
